Description
Nutritious and versatile, baby bok choy features a compact, vigorous plant with extra-tender stems and leaves. Also known as Chinese cabbage, but does not form a head. Delicious in stir-fries.
Pak choi grows best in cool weather. Plant in early spring in full sun and rich, loose soil. Keep soil moist until plants are well established. Treat with vegetable fertilizer or a side dressing of compost two weeks after plants emerge. Remove side stems as needed, or harvest the entire plant by cutting close to the ground. Plant a second crop in late summer for a fall harvest.
