Plant in full sun with rich soil for best growth. Start outside about two weeks after last frost when soil is completely warm. For transplants, start indoors about two weeks before last frost date. Feed monthly with side dressings of compost or an organic vegetable fertilizer. Pick fruits when about four to five inches long. Early blossoms are usually male and will not produce fruit.
